Pray & Prepare for the Mass

Mass Readings:

June 29, 2025 | Solemnity of Saints Peter & Paul, Apostles

In the first reading Peter is arrested, but prayer is made on his behalf and he is rescued by the angel of the Lord. In the second reading, Paul tells Timothy that he is being poured out like a libation and that he has finished the race. In the Gospel, Peter responds to Jesus’ question about his identity by saying, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus declares that he will give Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

July 6, 2025 | 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Isaiah says to rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad because of her, for there we will find comfort. Paul writes to the Galatians: May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Circumcision and uncircumcision no longer mean anything, but only being a new creation. Paul bears the marks of Christ on his body. In the Gospel, Jesus sends out seventy-two disciples ahead of him to prepare for his ministry and to proclaim the kingdom of God.

July 13, 2025 | 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Moses encourages the people to observe the law of the Lord, telling them it is not too mysterious and remote for [them]. He assures them that the law is already in their mouths and hearts. Paul proclaims Christ as theimage of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. In response to a question from a scholar of the law on how to inherit eternal life, Jesus tells a parable about a man who fell victim to robbers and the only person who helped him was a Samaritan
