Pray & Prepare for the Mass

October 26, 2025 | 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

In the first reading, Sirach speaks of the Lord as a God of justice … Hehears the cry of the oppressed and the petitions of the lowly. In the second reading, with the end of his earthly life nearing, Paul expresses continued trust in the Lord’s help and eternal reward. In the Gospel, Jesus addresses those who were convinced of their own righteousness with a parable of a Pharisee and tax collector praying in the temple area.

November 2, 2025 | The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls)

The first reading reflects on the blessed fate of the souls of thejust who, after death, are in the hand of God. Paul rejoices in the love of God evidenced in Christ’s sacrifice for us, which he undertook while we were still sinners. In the Gospel Jesus tells the crowd, I will not reject anyone who comes to me. He says the will of the Father is that all who see and believe in his Son have eternal life.
