“Promoting the Spirituality of Stewardship, Evangelization, and Conversion”
At St. Elizabeth, we offer parishioners a variety of organizations and groups providing prayer, fellowship, service, and social opportunities. We invite you to join us in growing in your relationship with Jesus, His Church, and your fellow man, through our many parish organizations and activities.

Bereavement Ministry
This group of parishioners brings their own life experiences with grief and bereavement to the care and support of families following the death of a loved one. They offer spiritual and emotional support as well as expertise in helping plan for the funeral rites. In addition, they follow up with families through cards and an annual invitation to a Memorial Mass on All Souls’ Day. The Bereavement Ministry strives to put into life the second of the eight Beatitudes of Jesus, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” For more information, contact Michael Halbrook via the parish office or read the information on bereavement & funeral planning.

Culture of Life / Right to Life
We commit and dedicate our efforts and talents to the protection of all human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death, desiring to increase public awareness that the Right to Life is a gift from God and a core natural right upon which our country is founded.
Unfortunately, with an abortion facility located in our own city, our parish has an extra duty to try to help to work and pray for an end to abortion, particularly in our very midst. Members of our parish take part in prayerful presence at the abortion clinic all through the year, but in a focused way during the semi-annual 40 Days For Life campaign. We also take part in our Bishop’s annual Mass and prayer march to the abortion facility to pray for an end to its closing, and end to abortion, and a renewed appreciation for the gift of life.

Funeral Luncheons
Funeral Luncheons are a rewarding ministry you can take part in as a member of our parish. It entails making a dish or helping serve at a luncheon after one of our members has passed and has a funeral mass at St Elizabeth Church. We have a call list that we can add your name to and when there is a funeral the ladies will call and ask if you are able to make a dish such as a salad, vegetable, potatoes, or dessert. If you have the time and would like to make a dish just say “yes,” and if it’s not a good time for you just say “sorry try me next time.” It’s that simple. The ladies will tell you the day & time to have the dish at the Harmony Room. If you would like to help serve the luncheon that would be great too.
This is a very rewarding ministry and takes very little time. The families are so appreciative of our kind gesture at this time of sorrow and it’s just one thing they don’t have to worry about. The Ladies Sodality takes care of getting the chicken for the luncheon. If you would like to make a dish or serve please call Pam Ames at 618-791-7081.

Join for fraternity, charity & faith formation. Read more about the Knights of Columbus.
Men’s Club
The Men’s Club meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:30 in the cafeteria. The Men’s Club shares fellowship and mutual support, while also having fun running fundraisers for the parish and its organizations. Among them are the Fish Fries the first Fridays of the month and through Lent, breakfasts, taco sales, chicken dinners, BBQs, and more. In turn, they give much financial support to the parish and school. Recent support has included laminators and plexiglass COVID student desk protection for the school, webcams for the school, and network technology for the parish and school. The men have also hosted dinner for the Bishop, breakfast for the ladies of the church, and host the parish appreciation dinner.
The Men hold a membership drive in January the same Sunday as the AFC & NFC Championships, sharing food, drink, and a good time. The way the men see it, every man of the parish and every dad and grandfather at the school is part of the Mens’ Club, some just aren’t active yet, and there’s an open invite for them to come join in the fellowship and fun. For more information, contact Rob Hutson, or leave a message for him via the parish office.
Men at Prayer
Men at Prayer is a group of men who come together twice a month to pray and to share something of their lives with each other. This gives the group a chance to reflect about life, and to sort out what really matters. The group meets on the first and third Sundays in the Parish Life Center at 9:00 am. For questions call: Dave Gensert at 618-593-8097.

St. Elizabeth Ladies Sodality
The Ladies Sodality meets in the Harmony Room on the 4th Tuesday of every month, except June and July. Refreshments are served at 7:00 PM, and the meeting starts promptly at 7:30 PM. Meetings typically last 60 to 90 minutes. We would love to see more ladies come join us at our meetings, or the many activities we have through out the year.
Some of the activities we take part in are: Funeral Luncheons, Quilt Raffle, Fall Bazaar, Golf Tournament, Christmas Cookie Sale, Men’s & Women’s parish breakfasts, Take a Fall Day Trip, Advent Dinner for women of parish, Serve at the special receptions though out the year (e.g. Easter Vigil, Mercy Sunday & many more).
- We pay for all the hosts, altar wines, candles and many other needs of the church.
- We donate $1,000 to the school each year.
- We give a $1,000 scholarship to a St Elizabeth student to further their education. We take part in community activities such as Church Women United and donate to local organizations providing services to underserved and vulnerable community members.
These are just a few of our activities and money makers throughout the year. We have a lot of fun and help our parish and community at the same time. Please think about joining us. You don’t have to come every month or every activity just participate as you feel called to serve. Please call Pam Ames at 618-791-7081 for any information.
